Here it is though, the first part of the blizzcon 08 material, featuring Some new people! There is just a little bit of the stuff that happened on the stage, but I’m sure you can find the stuff somewhere else without my shaky cam, so I didn’t go too much into it.

Also, as I was having some problems exporting and encoding stuff, when I finally now got it done, I found that the beginning part lacks some audio, DOH! But it’s too late to fix it, since I have to upload this now before my “vimeo week” is over, so that I can upload another one next week. …yes I know I could pay for it and have unlimited HD upload, and trust me, I was ready to pay, but for now the premium service is for US residents only, so that’s a no-go for now.

Breakfast at Denny’s, yum. Makes me drool just watching it. I wonder if I could just mix some Sprite, raspberry and mango juice to make some Razzdangos myself. Those were cool.

Also, there was a few other bits I wanted to add to this, but only now noticed that that one particular street, the wind was blowing really badly directly into the camera microphone so you couldn’t hear much of anything.

Also, for those not smart enough to speak Finnish, I do apologize for not subtitling the parts, but trust me, you didn’t miss anything.

The next videos will be from Blizzcon itself, I’ll have to see how much is there to show, and how much of it is stuff that hasn’t been shown everywhere already. Also it will introduce Alex into the videos. Yeah, you’re in it now, buddy!

First of all, when you install it, you get Flash 10. Yay! … no wait. It breaks everything. All flash file uploaders like the one here in WP or the one in Vimeo break. You get a message that all popups can only result from user action such as clicking the mouse. Well that’s what I was doing dumbass, but it doesn’t work. I hope this is fixed soon.

Second issue, the feature I was most looking forward in this, the AVCHD support, as that’s what my camera saves in. Well, it works. And in Premiere when I preview stuff in the Source window, everything is fine. But when previewing the timeline, the video playback is 0.5fps while audio does run ok. This definately needs to be fixed. I’ve decided to still keep converting the footage to DVCPRO before editing but I’m hoping for an update soon.

And speaking of Cali videos, stay tuned for part two Tuesday or Wednesday.

Edit: Found an update for the Flash 10 plugin. Well, it removed the error. Not that anything still works :S GG

The intro says short shorts, as it was made for the daily posts when we were there, but as you might have read from the other posts, we were just physically unable to upload anything there as the internet sucked. So it’s not that short, 12 minutes or so, but whatever.

The editing might be a bit off, I was using the new CS4 Premiere and there seems to be some issues with AVCHD playback from the timeline, while in the Source window it plays perfectly fine.

More will be coming, so please stay tuned over the next few or more days. Enjoy.

I didn’t make may updates during the trip, mostly because there was another poster to do those too, and because the internet connection we had was made of lose.

But have no fear, I’m not going to just leave it.

We did have some technical difficulties, there was a Daily ready on the second day to be uploaded, but there was no way the internet connection that cut off every 10 seconds would be able to upload a 60 meg video through a flash uploader. If only it wasn’t a flash one, there would maybe have been a way to use ftp or something and upload it here first and then from here to vimeo.

Then I got home with my 55 gigs of video and the hard drive seems to be broken. Then Facebook started messing up and I couldn’t even upload photos to begin with. Don’t you just love technology when it works?

Anyway, I should get the footage again tomorrow, thank god there’s a backup. So expect to get some clips this week.

And the clips will feature this hawt draenei chick on the left here. Man, she really was pretty, and not to mention her mechanical turtle mount, speedy.

Now I have to admit that I really don’t have a clue if I have any footage that I can make any sense of. If nothing else, I’ll just post a ton of random clips. The top most memory I have is Kris and Alex yelling at me that I wasn’t shooting when something funny/cool happened and then I film their faces right after that when it’s too late. :D

We’ll see. But in the mean time, just enjoy these three photos from Blizzcon, I’m sure you’ve all seen pictures elsewhere too.

Okay, so now the pictures work, one thing I still need to say, is that this trip was one of my most awesome experiences. It’s not just Blizzcon, it’s not any one part of it. I just wish I had more time there. But also for the next time I go — and there will be a next time — we learned one thing:

• Rent a car, you can’t rely on cabs or metros or anything.

So next time, the plan is to maybe fly down to San Diego, get a car, or something that we could then drive to LA, then to Vegas and San Fran. Because I want to see them too. Then again, I wouldn’t mind Blizzcon being at the East Coast either, so I can see NY, NY.

Anyway, not to rant too much, I’ll post more later and again, wait for videos soon.

Anyway I was there too and everything was cool like he said. Too tired to film much now but we’re just chilling after shopping now here in Irvine, CA.

Just came to the hotel from the movie theatre. We watched Tropic Thunder here in Anaheim, and let me tell you, this movie theatre is pimped out. We were at a “21+” showing, which meant that we got to go to the lounge area and have a beer before the movie started. And also the cinema room itself only could’ve held about 40 people or less, because of the lazyboy chairs they had. Apparently the whole place was only a few months old.

Let’s see now…. I didn’t get to tell the full story about Saturday in my last post.

After the siesta I headed to the Convention Centre to watch the Cinematics panel, and even got in before they closed the doors. They needed to limit the amount of people for the room, and unfortunately the others hadn’t gotten in before the barricade. So I left, and we went down to try and get some seating for the closing ceremony.

That was a lot harder than we originally could’ve imagined, and we ended up on the floor once again. Patton Oswalt was hilarious, he had some great jokes and even ripped into the crowd. We were laughing our asses off. Once L80ETC had played their first song, we left. Had to get to a restaurant before all the 15 000 people got out and wanted to eat too.

The party at the Hilton was once again packed with company crew, but this time all the rest of the people who had worked hard at the event were there too. We even got into the know about a party at the 5th floor pool, but once we got up there, they had just gotten the order to shut it down due to too many noise complaints. Rest of the evening was jolly and drunk. All-in-all a great BlizzCon.

In addition to watching a movie today, we’ve been to Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood.

Gotta say, it wasn’t all the things I expected. But we didn’t get to Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive, so it might have to do with the imagery of Entourage strong in our heads that made it look so bland. We went to Universal Studios, or rather the outside stores of it, Chinese Theatre, a small shopping centre, and home via Union Station.

Once again, it has been a wonderful day in California. Irvine tomorrow.
